Alison Caldicott is an account manager at Pulse Communications, the consumer division of Ogilvy Public Relations Australia. With close to five years experience at Pulse – Australia’s leading consumer PR agency – Alison has worked on a range of high-profile tourism and consumer accounts, including most recently an extensive digital influence and writing project with Australia’s peak tourism body, Tourism Australia.

From having her passport stole at a gypsy music festival in Serbia to card-eating ATM machines in coastal Italian towns and enduring three weeks of lost luggage en route from Barcelona to Dubrobvnik, Alison is a seasoned international traveler who thrives on experiencing the unknown. Most recently, she embarked on a cross-country road trip across the US, where she fell in love with the bright lights of New York city and hopes to one day call the East Village her home.

Alison’s work on the Tourism Australia account recently involved an exciting digital project designed to identify the world’s most influential bloggers across a range of interests including fashion, food, sports and music. From an initial pool of over 250 bloggers, under Alison’s lead the team strategically determined the top 25 most influential bloggers (in line with Tourism Australia’s objectives), who will soon be invited to Australia to enjoy and share with their huge online audiences, a range of unique Australian experiences relevant to their field of interest.

In addition, Alison has also worked closely with Tourism Australia to produce a range of weekly and fortnightly newsletter which are distributed electronically to media and public relations professionals around the world. Focusing on what’s hot in Australian travel – from food to wine, hotels and unique experiences – Alison has kept her finger on the Pulse of breaking travel stories and emerging trends.
