A communications professional with 13 years of experience, Bryan leads Ogilvy’s Malaria Taxes and Tariffs Advocacy Project (M-TAP) account, the Consortium to Respond Effectively to the AIDS/TB Epidemic (CREATE) account, and the Female Health Company account.

Bryan was recently project director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Business and Labor Respond to AIDS (BRTA/LRTA) project and deputy director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) HIV Vaccine Communications Campaign (HVCC).

Bryan directs communications For M-TAP, a two-year formative research and policy advocacy campaign funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and led by the Academy for Educational Development. The project’s goal is to engage national decision-makers in Africa and Asia in adopting policies that will expand affordable access to malaria drugs, bed nets, and other essential malaria prevention tools.

Bryan also provides senior counsel to multilateral organizations and international non-profits, and his current and past clients include: Digital Divide Data, the Grassroots Business Fund, the International Finance Corporation, the Inter-American Development Bank, ActionAid International, and the Turkana Basin Institute.

Prior to joining Ogilvy, Bryan directed communications for the United States African Development Foundation, a development corporation under the U.S State Department.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Swarthmore College in History and Anthropology, Bryan holds a Ph.D. in African History from Johns Hopkins University. His dissertation research was supported by the Fulbright program and the Social Science Research Council.
